Project Overview
A 60kWp hybrid solar system with 140kWh battery storage was installed for a residential client in Bujumbura, ensuring uninterrupted power supply while reducing electricity costs. Given frequent grid outages in the region, this system provides a reliable, sustainable alternative to traditional energy sources.

Challenges & Solutions
Frequent power outages in the area made it critical to ensure the system could seamlessly switch to battery storage during blackouts. To address this, we installed an automatic transfer switch, allowing for instant backup power activation. Additionally, high energy demand required smart energy management, so we integrated load prioritization software to maximize efficiency. Lastly, battery longevity was a concern, which we resolved by implementing a battery monitoring system to prevent overcharging and extend lifespan.
Benefits & Impact
This hybrid system reduces electricity costs by 85%, providing significant savings for the homeowner. The ability to store solar energy ensures round-the-clock power availability, eliminating dependence on an unstable grid. Additionally, the project contributes to clean energy adoption in Burundi, helping to lower carbon emissions and support the country’s sustainability efforts.
