Project Overview
Rutson Energy designed and installed a 100kWp grid-tied solar system at World Vision’s headquarters in Karen, helping the organization transition to sustainable energy. The system significantly reduces electricity costs while ensuring a reliable power supply for office operations.

Challenges & Solutions
One challenge during installation was ensuring continuous office operations while integrating the solar system. This was resolved by scheduling most of the work outside office hours to avoid disruptions. Additionally, grid fluctuations in Nairobi posed a risk of power instability, which was addressed by installing voltage regulation mechanisms to maintain steady energy supply. Another concern was system optimization for peak office hours, which was managed by integrating load-balancing technology to maximize efficiency.
Benefits & Impact
The project resulted in a 40% reduction in electricity expenses, allowing World Vision to redirect savings toward community development programs. Additionally, the solar system contributes to Kenya’s renewable energy goals, reducing the organization’s carbon footprint. The reliable power supply also ensures uninterrupted workflow for the staff, improving productivity.
